Overview: PRN Cardiac Sonographers are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $1,000 (PRN New Hire). Cardiac SonographerLocation: Forsyth Medical CenterDepartment: Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab Shift: PRN Precision. Compliance. Your Mission:Perform echocardiogramsYou'll operate ultrasound equipment to perform both routine and advanced heart scans: transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TEE), stress echocardiograms, pediatric echos, and even emergency scans. What You'll Do:Capture diagnostic dataDuring each scan, you'll evaluate blood flow, chamber sizes, valve function, and hemodynamics--ensuring the resulting images are high-quality, precise, and clinically useful. Assist in complex proceduresIf a cardiologist is performing pericardiocentesis or TEE in a special case, you'll support them--helping with image acquisition and possibly assisting in set-up . What We're Looking For:Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, rreferred. Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, preferred.Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred.Licensure/Certification: Registered Cardiac Sonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS (New Graduates will have 6 months to pass registry), required.Additional Skills Required:Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment.Ability to evaluate echocardiogram in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information.Ability to shift workload to meet patient needs.Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum echocardiogram information in each examination performed.Ability to follow established departmental procedures.Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations.Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of echocardiography interpretation, echocardiography skills, and considerable echocardiography abilities.Communication skills and sensitivity to patient needs.Ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
