Job Title: Mandarin-English Interpreter

Positions Available: 5

Schedule: Flexible — Full-Time, Part-Time, or 12-Hour Rotating Shifts

Interview Process: Microsoft Teams interview (conducted in Mandarin)

Position Summary

The Mandarin-English Interpreter will support cross-linguistic communication between Mandarin- and English-speaking staff at a manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation, primarily on the plant floor during training, safety meetings, and technical discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time verbal interpretation between Mandarin and English speakers on the manufacturing floor.
• Facilitate clear communication during training sessions, safety briefings, and collaborative technical conversations.
• Accurately convey meaning, tone, and context of spoken dialogue.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Adjust to varied communication environments and individual styles to support productive collaboration.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Studies, or related field preferred.
• Professional interpreting certification is a plus.
• Prior professional interpreting experience preferred.

Skills & Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin and English.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in both languages.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
• Skilled at managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Familiarity with interpretation tools/technology is preferred.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings/weekends.
• High level of cultural sensitivity and professionalism.
