As Dementia Care Activities Specialist at Lincoln Glen Manor () an inviting, senior community offering four levels of care/extensive amenities across an appealing 6-acre campus- you’ll specialize in one-on-one engagement with residents experiencing advanced dementia systems. This vital role enhances residents’ quality of life through personalized, meaningful interactions, promoting emotional well-being/cognitive stimulation/sense of connection in our Memory Care sector.
HIGHLIGHTS
Provide individualized activities tailored to needs/preferences/abilities of dementia residents
Build resident relationships through consistent, empathetic, respectful interactions
Use sensory/music/art/reminiscence-based activities to engage residents
Document resident participation/report observations to care team
Collaborate with nursing/therapy/other departments to support care plans
Maintain calm/supportive presence, de-escalating distress/confusion with gentle redirection techniques
REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent plus:
Experience working with seniors, working in facilities, dementia training and/or exposure
Familiarity with person-centered care approaches
Background or interest in arts/crafts/exercise/event planning beneficial
Patience, empathy, passion for improving lives of older adults
Dementia care certification a plus
